La nostra azienda è nata nel 1949 a Tolmezzo grazie all’intraprendenza di nostro nonno GioBatta Del Fabbro che insieme ai figli Dario e Tito ha messo a frutto la meticolosità, l’intuizione e la passione tipiche della gente della Carnia, creando prodotti innovativi e funzionali per la casa che venivano presentati alla clientela nazionale con splendidi modellini realizzati in scala ridotta.
From the '70s we specialised in the production of professional work Ladders and on wooden domestic Ladders, both always producted and distributed with the DEL FABBRO trademark.In the ’90s Anna and Andrea, the current owners, join the company. The first international exhibitions are held in Italy and Germany.
In 2010 the brand KARN is born, it's the celtic word for "rock", the etymological origin of the name “Carnia”, the mountain region in which we were born and where the company is based.
Our strong bond with the region is shown in our brand: The Flower of Life, an ancient symbol ever-present in mountainous areas, reinterpreted to enbody the company's spirit to look at the future without forgetting our traditions.
KARN offers furniture items functional for the house with a clean and linear design, embellished by a choice of colours to give whoever purchases them the opportunity to personalize any space of their house.
This wonderful material that we work with, wood, offers us a daily connection with nature and it let's our imagination soar, we then paint it and give it to you.
Our vision
Objects in harmony between the essentiality of function and the pleasure of the senses, constructed from natural materials, bare surfaces with a velvety appearance, awakening the pleasure of touching, caressing, interacting. Objects that with the luster of hands acquire the page of time, becoming unique.
Things that are simple, essential, rough-looking, but surprisingly romantic, like the place where they are produced, Carnia crossroads of peoples and stratification of cultures, a gateway open to inevitable invasions, which has generated a people with a steely zest but a big heart.

Mich elantonio Rizzi
Architetto
Architect, graduate of IUAV in Venice, CasaClima expert, and teacher at the Sello Art High School. From a young age, he was involved in his father's craft, learning woodworking techniques, the material's versatility and a deep attention to detail. His work spans both architecture and interior design; with a strong focus in the Material Culture of wood , ranging from historical to contemporary cabinetry.

The siblings Anna and Andrea Del Fabbro joined the company as kids, partly for fun, partly out of passion, and partly out of duty, working alongside their father and uncle. Over time, they developed a deep feel for wood and its physicality. Their mission is to express the beauty of wood and unleash its strength. Some of the pieces they've designed are now part of the Karn collection.
Nicola Nerboni
Industrial & Interior designer
After completing his technical studies, he trained by working alongside companies and professionals in the field of bespoke interior design. Through experience in top artisan workshops, he hones his eye for contruction details and developed a passion for experimenting with innovative techniques and materials. He currently collaborates with Gover, a prominent company specializing in the production of masonry heaters, stoves, kitchens and custom furnishing.
